Ashland to hold parade for the national champion Raiders

The city of Ashland will hold a congratulatory parade Sunday for Southern Oregon University's football team to celebrate the Raiders' national championship victory Friday over Marian College.

According to a news release, the parade will begin at noon, with the team making its way down Siskiyou Boulevard to the Plaza. Fans are encouraged to line the sidewalks to show their support.

The Raiders walked away with a 55-31 win at the NAIA national championship game, with NAIA player of the year Austin Dodge throwing for 429 yards and scoring three touchdowns. The win was SOU's first national championship in football.
