Mt. Ashland Ski Area set to open Saturday
The Mt. Ashland Ski Area is set to re-open on Saturday, resort officials said Friday evening. Eighteen inches of snow had fallen at the ski area thanks to the storm sweeping Southern Oregon, and more snow is expected over the weekend, according to a news release.
Mt. Ashland general manager Hiram Towle said that a delayed opening is expected Saturday, possibly as late as noon, according to the release.
Grooming teams were working Friday night on getting the runs ready for Saturday, the release said.
Updates will be posted on the ski area's website (www.mtashland.com), on the "snow phone" (541-482-2SKI) and Facebook page.
The ski area operated for 13 days this season before closing on Jan. 6 due to low snowpack.
