Auditions set for teen variety show

Talented teens can try out for  an Ashland variety show.

Auditions for  the show "You Rock" will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at the Medford School District auditorium, 815 S. Oakdale Ave., and from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way.

Show organizers say "all creative expressions are welcome."

"In the past we've had musicians, acrobats, break dancers, poets and rappers," a release on the auditions says.

Auditions are open to teens in grades eight through 12. Officials say they hope to notify selected performers by Friday, March 20.

The "You Rock" show will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. Proceeds from the event will go to the Rose Circle Mentoring Network, a nonprofit organization intended to mentor at-risk youth between the ages of 10 and 24.
