ASHLAND: Oak Knoll to host free FootGolf event
Oak Knoll Golf Course in Ashland will host a free afternoon of FootGolf — a blend of soccer and golf played with a soccer ball — from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 13. FootGolf uses shortened holes and 21-inch diameter cups.
The sport of FootGolf is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIGA) and is played throughout the world. The American FootGolf League is the exclusive member of the FIFG and governs the sport of FootGolf in the United States. The AFGL organizes tournaments and leagues throughout the country and works with golf courses to bring FootGolf to communities.
During the free FootGolf event Oak Knoll (3070 Hwy 66) will remain open to traditional golfers. FootGolfers are encouraged to bring a regulation No. 5 soccer ball and wear soft-soled shoes (no cleats). Free snacks and drinks will be provided and local wine and beer available for purchase.
