The OHSU Moore Institute for Nutrition & Wellness was established to reduce the prevalence of chronic diseases by promoting healthy, nutrient-rich diets before conception, during pregnancy and in infancy and early childhood.
Research shows that poor nutrition during these periods is a primary cause of chronic diseases and obesity.
The Moore Institute hosts Nutrition Consortium Forums around the state to spread the word about this research, to learn from community groups about local programs and to develop collaborations for new programs as well as to discover barriers to improving health and nutrition of Oregonians.
