Ashlanders tell tales of WWII history on the radio Wednesday
A pair of Ashland historians will be interviewed from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, on Jefferson Public Radio's Jefferson Exchange program.
Host Geoffrey Riley will talk with Lynne Hasselman about her research into Ashlanders who lost their lives during World War II, which has been serialized as "We Regret to Inform You" in the Ashland Daily Tidings culminating Wednesday. The complete series is available online at bit.ly/wr2iy.
Appearing separately will be be retired Southern Oregon University history professor Vaughn Davis Bornet, Ph.D., author of the recently published book "Lovers in Wartime, 1944 to 1945."
The News & Information service of JPR broadcasts the Jefferson Exchange from 8 to 10 a.m. weekdays on 1230 AM and 102.3 FM in the Ashland area. Other radio translators broadcast from Eugene to Mendocino. The program repeats from 8 to 10 p.m. on the same stations.
