Holiday Magic Show
Magical Michael will present a magic show to delight all ages during the annual Holiday Open House from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at the Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., Ashland. The magic shows are at 1:30 and 3 p.m. Cassie the Clown will paint kids' faces from 2 to 5 p.m. and make balloon animals. Warm up with hot chocolate and locally made marshmallows around an outdoor fire pit and make holiday crafts. Platt Anderson Cellars and Prickly Vine will offer wine tastings. Dan Fellman and Stolen Moments
Jazz guitarist Dan Fellman, acoustic guitarist Conny Lindley and Walter Lindley on upright bass will play a range of music at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Belle Fiore Winery, 100 Belle Fiore Lane (off Dead Indian Memorial Road), Ashland. The trio's repertoire includes American jazz standards, bossa nova standards of Antonio Carlos Jobim, the Gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt, Latin jazz and western swing. Rogue Valley Railroad Show
See dozens of layouts and exhibits of trains, from tiny scale models to full-size, during the 38th annual Rogue Valley Railroad Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway. Dozens of vendors will showcase railroad-related items. See historical railroad displays and memorabilia, win hourly door prizes and enter a raffle drawing. Hands-on kids activities also will be available. Admission is $5, $1 for ages 6 through 12 and free for ages 5 and younger. Proceeds benefit Medford Railroad Park, which is open from April through October. The park is run by the Medford Garden Railroaders, the Morse Telegraph Club, the Southern Oregon Railway Historical Society, the Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club and Southern Oregon Live Steamers. Ben Rice Band
Portland guitarist Ben Rice and his band will play rockin' blues at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at 2Hawk Winery, 2335 N. Phoenix Road, Medford. Rice's original music blends soul, Delta blues, rockabilly, jazz and funk into a roots stew influenced by artists such as Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass, Marshall Tucker, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Skip james and more. Broadway leading lady Faith Prince will present a one-woman, song-filled show at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. Prince dazzled Broadway audiences with her Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle award-winning performance of Miss Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls" opposite Nathan Lane, and she starred as the scheming, irascible Miss Hannigan in the Broadway revival of "Annie."
