Lithia Park Nature Walks: Walk with naturalists through Lithia Park and learn about plants, trees, animals, water, geology and history at 10 a.m. Fridays, Sundays and Wednesdays through Sept. 30. Additional walks are Saturdays in July and August. Meet at the park entrance on Winburn Way across from the downtown Ashland Plaza. The 90-minute walks are free.Call 541-488-5340.

Kieval Lecture: The Harry S. Kieval Lectures Series continues at Southern Oregon University this month with a presentation by Stanford University mathematics professor Dr. Keith Devlin at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, in Room 151 inside the Science Building on SOU's main campus in Ashland. The presentation, “Too Good to be True? Unravelling the Mystery of Some Recent Studies of Video Game Math Learning” will focus on how video games can help children learn mathematics. Ashland International Folk Dancers: The group meets every Friday at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, for dances from Eastern and Western Europe, Greece, Scandinavia, Israel, Turkey and the Middle East. Southern Oregon Swing: Swing dances are held from 8 to 11 p.m. every second and fourth Friday at The Grove, 1195 E. Main St., Ashland. Beginners' instruction is at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $10. Bird Day: Rogue Valley Bird Day is the celebration of International Migratory Bird Day. There will be Wildlife Images exhibits, guided bird walks and a bird-calling contest from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14, North Mountain Park Nature Center, 620 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Customs for Kids Car Show: The Altered Vision Car Club holds its sixth annual Customs for Kids Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Brammo Inc., 300 W. Valley View Road, Talent. All years, makes and models of vehicles are welcome and more than 40 trophies will be awarded. Activities include raffle prizes, an auction, food vendors, a coloring contest for kids, laser tag and a bounce house obstacle course. Proceeds benefit Maslow Project, which helps homeless families and unaccompanied youth in Southern Oregon. Services help kids stay in school and complete their educations. Admission is free. Phoenix Yard, Garden and Book Sale: Participating households throughout Phoenix will take part in an annual city-wide yard sale all day on Saturday, May 14. The Phoenix Garden Club will have its annual Scholarship Fundraising Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ray's grocery store, 735 Main St. The club will have annuals, perennials, herbs, pollinator plants and more. The Friends of the Phoenix Library will hold a used book, DVD, CD and VHS tape sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Phoenix library, 510 W. First St. The First Presbyterian Church, 121 W. World Music Festival: The free outdoor Siskiyou de Mayo World Music Festival features international music and dance from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park along Winburn Way, Ashland. The line-up includes Salsa Brava with Back Alley Rueda, Unity African Drum and Dance, Rutendo Marimba, Rumba Turhán, Maraval Road Steel Band, Frankie Herenandez Band, Dancer Dawn KC, Ka Pi’o O Ke Anuenue, and T Poe and The Rogue Poets.
