Bike the Rogue

The seventh annual Bike the Rogue event will be held Sept. 10 at Buffington Park in Gold Beach.

The event features three different rides on low-traffic roads: a 25-miler that covers 1,100 vertical feet, a 40-miler that covers 2,000 vertical feet and a 100-kilometer ride that covers 4,000 vertical feet.

All three routes, which cost $30, $40 and $50, respectively, follow the banks of the Rogue River and cross two bridges in a wild and remote southwestern corner of Oregon. The 40-miler and 100-kilometer ride both finish along the acean and feature panoramic views of beaches, sea stacks and rugged coastline.

Each rider's entrance fee includes a free ticket (normally $15) to the Gold Beach Brew Fest, which takes place the same day.

Registration and waiver forms are available at goldbeachrotary.com/service-projects/local-projects/bike-the-rogue, or google "Bike the Rogue Gold Beach."

Bike helmets are required. For more information, visit the Bike the Road website or email biketherogue@gmail.com.
