Summer Gardening: Learn about tending fruits, vegetables and flowers at 4 p.m. every Thursday, at Ashland Creek Park, 27 E. Hersey St. Learn how to rotate crops and keep bugs away with naturally safe methods, while attracting beneficial insects that promote plant growth. Admission is $5 per drop-in. Ashland City Band: The community band, conducted by Don Bieghler, will present music that represents Oregon and the Pacific Northwest at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, in the Butler Band Shell in Ashland's Lithia Park. The program will include "The Redwoods," conducted by James O'Dell; selections from "The Willamette Suite," composed and conducted by Martin Behnke; "Oregon" by Netherlands composer Jacob deHaan; "Northwest Saga" by Clare Grundman; and "Citation" by former Ashland City Band director Glenn Matthew. Legally Blonde: The 2016 Camelot Theatre Conservatory students present "Legally Blonde, the Musical, Aug. 4-7, at Camelot Theatre, 101 Talent Ave., Talent. Based on the novel "Legally Blonde" by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name, "Legally Blonde the Musical" is a fresh and effervescent evening of musical fun, stylishly wrapped up in a smart pink bow. Performances are 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4; 2 and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5-6 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7. The theatre offers a $5 discount for students younger than 17 when accompanied by an adult, and rush tickets are available for $18, 10 minutes before the show.

Gallerie Karon: A new exhibit — The Female of the Species — will run from Aug. 5 through September at Gallerie Karon, 500 A St., Ashland. There are over 20 artists showcasing photography, painting, porcelain portraits, textiles, ceramics, books and cards.

Lithia Park Nature Walks: Walk with naturalists through Lithia Park and learn about plants, trees, animals, water, geology and history at 10 a.m. Fridays, Sundays and Wednesdays through Sept. 30. Additional walks are Saturdays in July and August. Meet at the park entrance on Winburn Way across from the downtown Ashland Plaza. Green Show: The Oregon Shakespeare Festival hosts free Green Show performances at 6:45 p.m. six nights each week except Mondays through Oct. 16 on its outdoor Courtyard Stage at its Ashland campus, 15 S.
