Ashland International Folk Dancers: The group meets Fridays at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, to perform dances from Eastern and Western Europe, Greece, Scandinavia, Israel, Turkey and the Middle East. Rogue Valley Symphony: The symphony, conducted by Martin Majkut, celebrates its 50th anniversary with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gustav Mahler. American pianist Peter Serkin will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20, and RVS will perform Mahler's Symphony No. 5, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. Majkut will present a pre-concert talk one hour before the performance. Tickets are $41 to $60, $15 for ages 6 through 22. Rogue Modern Quilters Guild: The quilting group meets from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. the third Saturday of each month for sewing, demonstrations and show-and-tell projects at Talent Town Hall, 206 E.
