Dover String Quartet: Chamber Music Concerts kicks off its new season of concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. Dover String Quartet will perform works by Richard Danielpour, Tchaikovsky and Bartok in the program titled "Dancing Around the World." Persian-American composer Danielpour uses Iranian folk music in his short pieces; Tchaikovsky's Quartet in D major brings to life his trademark ballet music; and Bartok's Quartet No. 1 arcs from the funeral music of the first movement to jovial Hungarian folk music in the last movement.
