Breakfast: The Rogue Valley New Day Network Breakfast will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Rogue Valley Unitarian Fellowship, 87 Fourth St. Ashland. The breakfast speaker will be Avram Sacks presenting 'Isreal and Ethnic Cleasnsing: The Truth Behind the Exodus Myth.' The RV New Day Network promotes peace, justice and sustainability in the Rogue Valley. This is a no-waste event, so participants are asked to bring their own utensils, plate, napkin, cup and food to share.

'Motown Get Down': A dance party featuring live sounds of Motown, soul and oldies performed by the Daniel Kelly Soul Project — singer Danielle Kelly, guitarist Paul Turnipseed, drummer Matthew Kriemelman, bassist Richard Meyer and Gordon Greenley on sax — will be held at 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Elks Lodge, 255 E. Proceeds from tickets and bar sales will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates of Jackson County. The nonprofit organization trains volunteers to advocate the safety and well-being of children under the care of Child Welfare due to parent abuse or neglect. The dance is open to ages 21 and older.

Community Forum: ORD2 Indivisible will host a community forum from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. Speakers will include Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., Ashland Mayor John Stromberg, State Rep. Pam Mars, D-Ashland, members of clergy and community members and more. The focus will be against hate, bigotry and oppression.
