Jacksonville Victorian Christmas: Jacksonville celebrates the holidays with its Victorian Christmas, a celebration that continues the first three weekends in December, with some activities the weekend after Christmas. The town is decorated in natural greenery with white lights and red bows to evoke Christmases past. Look for photo opportunities with Father Christmas, strolling carolers, some in vintage costumes, and complimentary hot cider. Project FeederWatch: Volunteers can help experts count birds that visit feeders at North Mountain Park from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at 620 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Results will be submitted to Cornell University's FeederWatch program. Call 541-488-6606.

'A Celtic Christmas': Storyteller Tomaseen Foley, guitarist William Coulter, uilleann piper and Irish dancer Brian Bigley, fiddler Edwin Huizinga and singer Kara Matthews will present an evening of wild Celtic music, traditional Christmas carols, Irish dancing and stories from the west of Ireland at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Free Christmas dinner: All are welcome to attend a free holiday dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Christmas Day at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. A buffet-style turkey dinner with all the trimmings and dessert will be available to attendees. The event, hosted by the Ashland Christian Fellowship church, is in its 38th year. North Mountain Park & Nature Center: The Nature Center offers a variety of programs and interpretive exhibits that teach local natural and cultural history and sustainable living. Explore the park’s demonstration gardens, nature trails, pavilion, picnic and play areas. The North Mountain Park & Nature Center is next to Bear Creek at 620 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Holiday Open House at Hanley Farm: The historic farmhouse will be decorated and open for tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 1053 Hanley Road, Central Point. Costumed docents will guideyou through the home and bring history to life with stories about the rich history of the Hanley family and farm.Take a walk around the gardens and enjoy roasted chestnuts, hot beverages, cookies and more in the pavilion. Beekman House Christmas Tour: Learn the origins of Boxing Day and how Christmas was celebrated in the late 1800s during guided tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the historic Beekman House, 470 E.
