Two-vehicle crash causing delays on Medford viaduct

A crash involving two vehicles on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 is backing up southbound traffic on the Medford viaduct, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Both vehicles involved in the crash are off the roadway onto the shoulder. Drivers were backed up as far as the East McAndrews Road overpass at one point.

“Anytime you have emergency traffic, with their lights on and cars on the side at that location, you’re going to get people slowing down,” ODOT spokesman Gary Leaming said.

Drivers in the area should be prepared for delays this morning.

Information on injuries and the cause of the crash was not immediately available.
