Rare bumble bee AWOL in Ashland since 2006

A rare bumble bee with the smallest home range of any of its ilk in North America has been AWOL the past 12 years in Southern Oregon.

A team of biologists and citizen scientists armed with butterfly nets and plastic canisters recently plied the flowery meadows of Mount Ashland for the rare Franklin's bumble bee, last seen there in 2006.
