MADGE bust nets drugs and guns

A drug raid at the Phoenix home of a suspected drug dealer yielded more than a pound of marijuana, more than a quarter ounce of meth and a dozen guns — some of which had been reported stolen, police said.

Michael Scott Beugli, 25, faces numerous felony drug and firearm charges in Jackson County Circuit Court following a Tuesday morning raid at his home in the 100 block of South Main Street, according to court documents filed by the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force. Beugli also faces a misdemeanor count of unlawfully possessing a marijuana item.

Police said they also found scales, drug packaging, drug records and about $800 cash.

Of the 12 guns police found, three had been reported stolen and one firearm had its serial number ground off, which is a felony under Oregon law, police said.

Court records show Beugli has 2017 and 2018 felony convictions for attempting to elude police in a vehicle, which preclude him from owning any firearms.

Beugli made his initial court appearance Wednesday on counts of manufacturing, delivering and possessing meth, felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree theft and altering or obliterating a firearm ID.

Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Greif set bail at $200,000. Beugli remained held in the Jackson County Jail as of Wednesday evening.
