ASF needs callers for fundraiser

The 30th annual Ashland Schools Foundation campaign begins this week, and volunteers are needed to make the calls.

Volunteers are served a local buffet dinner at 6 p.m. and a brief training session. Then, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. they call donors and parents of current Ashland School District students to ask for donations. The call bank is located at the Windsor Inn across the Interstate 5 South exit, on the right, back side of the building.

ASF donates more than $200,000 annually into the Ashland schools for extra teachers, specialists and educational aides, in addition to funding projects, equipment and programs. This is one of the larger fundraisers of the year.

The remaining call nights are:

  • Wednesday, April 17 with dinner by Larks, Oberon’s,Standing Stone and Shop-n-Kart
  • Tuesday, April 23 with dinner by Ruby’s, Pangea, Senor Sam’s and The Wild Goose
  • Thursday, April 25 with dinner by Masala, TBD,Papa Murphy’s Pizza and Brothers

An ASF Facebook post states that volunteers do not make cold calls to community members. Calls are only made to donors and parents.

It is encouraged that volunteers bring a cellphone with them to use if possible.

About 45 callers are needed each night.
