Daniel Meyer Pool opens for summer
Even though it is still spring, the Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool opened Monday for the summer.
The pool is open to lap swimmers, with senior and recreational swimmers starting Saturday, May 25.
A free, 30-minute, introductory swim lesson will be offered for children ages 3 to 12 at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20. The 10th anniversary of the “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson” will focus on water safety, comfort in the water, air recovery and basic movement in water.
Registration must be completed by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, and can be found at ashland.or.us/register.
To sign up for notifications of pool closures due to smoke or inclement weather, text DMPOOL to 888-777.
Everyone signed up for swim lessons will automatically receive the notifications.
The pool, open though early September, offers recreational and lap swimming, water fitness, swim lessons and swim camps.
Information about swim programs, lessons and other events can be found online at ashland.or.us/Swim.
For more information, call the pool directly at 541-488-0313.
