Morning crash likely to impact evening commutes
Power outages and road delays are expected to last through the evening following a Thursday morning crash in White City involving a dump truck.
At 9:07 a.m., a dump truck knocked down multiple power lines and utility poles near Biomass One at the intersection of Avenue G and Highway 62, according to Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon and Oregon Department of Transportation reports.
As of about 3:15 p.m., power remains out to multiple traffic signals, and ODOT advises commuters who use Crater Lake Highway to expect extended commute times and delays through the evening.
Avenue G remained closed as of Thursday afternoon.
The crash drew ODOT and Fire District 3 to the intersection after the traffic lights and other utility poles were knocked out by the crash.
Drivers using Highway 62 are advised to expect delays and treat the intersection like a four-way stop.
