Senior sitter wanted. RSVP is seeking a friendly face to help a gentleman care for his wife for two hours every other week. “Jane” does not need medical care. She needs simple companionship and friendly conversation. If you are available to relieve our sweet husband, he can perform tasks such as going to the grocery store, getting a haircut or taking care of his own medical needs. Senior sitters to do provide medical assistance, garment changing and so on. Hours are flexible. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Medford Police Department is in need of volunteers to help with handicap parking patrol. Volunteers are paired up with another volunteer to help educate drivers regarding handicap placards, issue warnings, issue citations and operate police volunteer vehicles. Flexible hours, three to four hours per day, one to two days per week. Volunteers will receive training.

Medford Police Department is in need of volunteers to help with document distribution. Volunteer vehicle will be provided to pick up and drop of documents to various agencies. Delivery takes approximately 2 1/2 hours, one day a week. Must have Oregon drivers license. Volunteers will receive training.

KSKQ volunteer community radio station 89.5 FM and 94.1 FM needs a pledge drive coordinator immediately for the pledge drive that runs Oct. 12-20. This is a one-time position. The pledge team is in place. Email: Connie.saldana@kskq.org

KSKQ underwriting coordinator (Ashland)

KSKQ, an all-volunteer community radio station in Ashland, is seeking an underwriting coordinator, commission paid. Sales duties include soliciting new underwriters; maintaining communication with current and potential underwriters and maintaining accurate records; completing, signing, processing sales agreements. KSKQ is licensed by the Multicultural Association of Southern Oregon. Qualifications: one year sales experience and familiarity with Excel spreadsheets. Email Connie.Saldana@kskq.org

Friendly Visitor is in need of volunteers to visit with, share a cup of coffee, play a game of cards or take a walk with older adults who are in need of companionship, support and socialization in the comfort of their own homes. The weekly visit will give the homebound senior a sense of connection to the world around them. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, Victims Assistance Program is seeking volunteers to assist crime witnesses who are testifying at grand jury. Ability to be compassionate and understanding desired. Training is provided.

The Foster Grandparent Program of Southern Oregon is looking for lower-income senior citizen volunteers who want to work with children. A small stipend, mileage reimbursement, training and continuing education is provided. There is a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week.

Long Term Care, Ombudsman is looking for volunteers to advocate for the rights and dignity of the elderly and disabled living in licensed long-term care facilities. The mission is to protect individual rights, enhance quality of life, improve care and promote dignity for residents.

RSVP Respite Program seeks volunteers to provide family caregivers a time of relief from the constant everyday care of an elderly person. Volunteers provide companionship and help with simple recreational activities or assist with a meal. Training and mileage reimbursement is provided.

Call-A-Ride is in need of volunteer drivers to ensure a safe ride for local seniors to get to their medical appointments. Many of the clients have no means of transportation and often have to cancel and go without medical care. Shifts are flexible around volunteer’s schedule; mileage reimbursement and supplemental insurance are offered for each volunteer.

SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance) is seeking volunteers to provide assistance and guidance toward seniors who have questions or need help navigating through the Medicare insurance programs and enrollment. Volunteers will receive training and mileage reimbursement.

Age Wise Age Well is seeking volunteers to provide support and advocacy to older adults who are experiencing difficulty in some aspect of their lives. The goal of the program is to promote healthy aging and help prevent loss of independence.

Rogue Valley Genealocical Society’s mission is to inspire interest in genealogy, inform and educate the public, and maintain a growing sustainable library with a strong online presence. Volunteer wanted to help with financials. Training and mileage reimbursement is provided.

American Cancer Society Discovery Shop is in need of volunteers to help with sorting and pricing donations; assist customers with selections and sales. Volunteers must enjoy working with others to benefit an exciting cause. Training will be provided.

The Jackson County Courthouse Information Booth is seeking volunteers for shifts on Wednesdays. There is currently a morning and afternoon opening. Volunteers help visitors to the County Administrative offices find the appropriate department and answer light phones. Training and mileage reimbursement are provided.

The Medford Senior Center is seeking volunteers to help serve lunch. Volunteer shifts are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Volunteer as many shifts as you would like. Training will be provided. Mileage reimbursement and supplemental insurance are offered for each volunteer. The Medford Senior Center offers events, games, classes and other forms of social interaction.

St. Vincent de Paul in Medford is seeking volunteers to help staff its Urban Rest Stop. The rest stop is open Monday through Friday, providing showers and washer and dryers to clients who do not have access to these facilities. They are also looking for volunteers to fill numerous positions in our Thrift Store (Monday through Saturday), including cashiers and intake personnel. Training is provided.

First Phoenix Community Center is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks in its food pantry and community kitchen. It also needs help in its free clothing closet. Days and hours vary.

First Presbyterian Church is looking for volunteers to help stock food pantry, prepare sack lunches and assist clients with selecting food items and caring them to their car. Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and various other days depending on the need.

Jacksonville Collectibles Thrift Shop is in need of volunteers to help with assisting customers with selections and sales. Volunteers must enjoy working with others. Store hours vary, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Training will be provided.

Food and Friends/Meals on Wheels are looking for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound seniors in the Central Point, Jacksonville, Rogue River, Medford, Shady Cove and White City areas. One day a week, from 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Training will be provided.

The Family Nurturing Center is looking for volunteers to read to preschool age children through the SMART program at their Medford location on Wednesdays. Training is provided, and background checks will be required.

Senior and Disability Service of RVCOG is looking for volunteers to help with phone calls and data entry. The phone volunteer will work from home and call from a disaster registry set list to verify information and submit paperwork once a quarter. Training provided

Medford Food Project Green Bag Connection: Help the Medford Food Project feed our hungry neighbors. Be our voice and join the Green Bag Connection. Volunteers are needed to call our food donors from home and keep them inspired and involved. We’ll provide everything you need. Homebound volunteers are encouraged to join this special project. Totally flexible hours and minimal commitment.

Senior and Disability Service of RVCOG Living Well Self-Management Program is a series of six workshops, led by trained certified leaders, to help adults of all abilities with chronic conditions and caregivers who support them to better manage their health, allowing more control over their lives. Workshop leaders may have chronic conditions themselves — or care for someone who does — and have successfully adopted the techniques offered by the program. ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is looking for volunteers to help science come alive for visitors of all ages. Facilitate hands-on art, science and tinkering activities and get museum guests involved in the act of discovery! Training will be provided.

Grandmas2Go is looking volunteers to help mentor and support struggling families with infants and toddlers. These parents do not have local extended family to help them. Volunteer will need to be able to email, text, drive, lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Volunteers must be active. Training will be provided.

Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of capacities, including fundraising, constructing and restoring homes for low-income future homeowners. Shifts, job duties, and schedules are very flexible. On-the-job training will be provided.

Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) is in need of volunteer(s) to help maintain its resource database. Must be able to work independently, have strong telephone and data-entry skills, familiar with MSWord and Excel, and able to sit for long periods. Must pass criminal records background check. Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is looking for volunteers who are interested in being part of their sewing team. Sewing experience is not necessary but is appreciated. The sewing team makes neck pillows, eye glass cases, ice pack holders for breast biopsies, and large Christmas stockings for every baby born in December.

FOTAS (Friends of the Animal Shelter) is looking for people to foster kittens too young for adoption for 6 to 8 weeks in the comforts of their home. All materials will be supplied. Training will be provided.

VA SORCC (Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics) is seeking individuals to join the Volunteer Caregiver Support Program. Help is needed to visit homebound veterans and provide respite for their family caregivers. Additional volunteer openings at the veterans adult day care program in Medford.

Providence Medford Medical Center is in need of volunteers who would like to make a caring difference in someone’s life. Openings are available in the emergency department, gift shop, information desk, messenger service and more. Orientation and training will be provided.

Roots & Wings is looking for board members to lend their voices in support of equal access for all young children to learning opportunities. Board meetings are held every other month in Medford. Roots and Wings provides early education for a diverse population of children. Board members are needed to be a voice for children and families.
