Restaurant inspections are on county website

Now that the newspaper doesn’t run the results of health inspections conducted around the Rogue Valley, how do we keep up with what establishments are in compliance and which aren’t?

— Heather

Jackson County’s Environmental Public Health department handles inspections and licensing for restaurants both permanent and temporary.

The Mail Tribune for years ran the results of recent inspections, until the county stopped sending over monthly compilations in 2017 when it launched a new website.

The website format made it difficult to figure out which restaurants were inspected in any given month, so the Mail Tribune stopped publishing them in the paper.

Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by email to youasked@rosebudmedia.com. We’re sorry, but the volume of questions received prevents us from answering all of them.
