Kiwanis cancels annual Easter egg hunt
Owing to concerns surrounding the spread of the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19, Medford Kiwanis have called-off its annual Easter egg hunt.
The club decided that gathering large groups of children in close proximity to each other would be “unwise,” according to a release issued by the group’s former president Tom Sramek Jr.
The event, which draws crowds of children who gather candy from Medford park lawns and pose for photographs with the Easter Bunny, would have been the organization’s 79th annual hunt.
The hunt will resume next year, April 3, 2021, at Pear Blossom Park.
Kiwanis next gathering, its annual Vocational Awards Luncheon, is still on schedule for Wednesday, May 6, at Inn at the Commons.
