Oregon Cabaret Theatre to close for three weeks

Continuing the trend of local entertainment venues taking preventative measures during the coronavirus outbreak, the Oregon Cabaret Theatre in Ashland announced Sunday afternoon that the Monday, March 16, performance of "Steel Magnolias" will be the company's last until April 9.

The closure will account for the scheduled final week of that production, plus the first full week of OCT's next show, "The Spitfire Grill." In a posting on its website and Facebook page, OCT described options for ticket holders for the cancelled performances, including refunds, exchanges for future shows, or to be held on account for future use.

While OCT's seating capacity is below Gov. Kate Brown's 250-person limit for large events, theater management decided to make what it called a "cautionary measure," adding that no one at the theater has been ill.
