Mental health support groups to meet online
Mental health advocate Andrea Berryman Childreth will host virtual mental health support groups Thursday and Friday to help people cope during the COVID-19 pandemic.
People can join the support groups via the free tele-meeting service Zoom.
The first meeting, for people living with mental illness, starts at 11 a.m. Thursday. To join, visit us04web.zoom.us/j/384628002 to download the Zoom application to your computer and join the meeting.
“Uncertainty and lack of structure are difficult for most people. If you struggle with mental illness, it can be particularly challenging,” Childreth said. Join the 40-minute session to vent and share coping strategies.
The second meeting, for caregivers, starts at 11 a.m. Friday and also lasts 40 minutes. To join, visit us04web.zoom.us/j/323169916.

Childreth is the founder of The Lemonade Project, which aims to reduce stigma and raise awareness about mental illness. She is the author of the guidebook “On the Edge: Help & Hope for Parenting Children with Mental Illness.”
