Human Bean donation provides more than 72,000 meals

The Human Bean coffee stand chain and its customers raised enough money to provide approximately 72,596 meals to struggling Rogue Valley residents during the COVID-19 crisis.

Human Bean locations in Jackson County pledged to donate $1 to the social services provider ACCESS for every beverage sold on Thursdays during April.

The company exceeded its goal of selling enough drinks to provide 60,000 meals to those in need.

For every $1 donated to ACCESS, the organization is able to provide four meals.

The Human Bean thanked its customers for their support that made the donation to cover 72,596 meals possible.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the demand for food assistance continues to grow. ACCESS is distributing close to 100,000 pounds of food weekly.

ACCESS food pantries are located in communities that include Medford, Ashland, Talent, White City, Butte Falls, Prospect, Rogue River, Shady Cove and the Applegate Valley.
