Jackson County reports 18 new COVID-19 cases
Jackson County reported 18 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, raising the county’s total to 559, of which 169 are currently considered active.
According to Jackson County Public Health, a previously reported case failed to meet the Oregon Health Authority’s definition of a presumptive or confirmed COVID-19 case and was removed from the county’s total.
The OHA reported 252 new cases in Oregon Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 23,262. OHA also reported two new COVID-19-related deaths, raising the state death toll to 388.
Multnomah county led the state with the most reported cases Sunday with 67, while Marion and Washington counties followed with 40 and 29 respectively.
Oregon’s latest deaths included an 86-year-old Clackamas County woman who tested positive on Aug. 12 and died the following day, and a 52-year-old Multnomah County woman who tested positive Aug. 5 and died on Aug.14. Both had underlying conditions.
