Identification system in place for Almeda fire areas
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has a new system in place to help residents who had to evacuate because of the Almeda fire get back to their homes or businesses.
Residents at 3178, 3182, 3282, 3306, 3340 and 3432 S. Pacific Highway, and at 10 E. South Stage Road, are asked to go to U.S. Cellular Community Park and enter off Lowry Lane, according to a news release. Residents are asked to bring proof of their address, such as a driver’s license or a utility bill.
“We understand that under the current circumstances not everyone has the ideal form of identification, and we will work with you the best we can,” the news release said.
Residents of those specific addresses will receive a vinyl sticker to place on the vehicle they use. The sticker does not provide access to the whole area.
