Kids karting

There's usually no such thing as a free ride, but many Southern Oregon kids discovered one exception.

Kids 12 and younger got behind the wheel for free races Saturday at Rogue Karting in Medford as part of a fundraiser event to help victims impacted in Almeda and South Obenchain fires.

The event at the 75,000 square foot indoor raceway teamed up with other local businesses including the Mail Tribune's parent company, Rosebud Media, along with KTVL News 10. All proceeds from the event will go to the Salvation Army's Rogue Valley effort.

“There is so much devastation, if we can put a smile on your kids’ faces for a couple hours then we will,” Rogue Karting said on a Facebook page for the fundraiser.
