Drive-thru pet vaccination clinic planned for Saturday

The Jackson County Animal Shelter will host a drive-thru pet vaccination and licensing clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Pet owners must call the shelter at 541-774-6654 before Friday to schedule an appointment.

Appointments will be spaced out and people need to wear a mask and arrive for their pet’s appointment on time. The shelter is at 5595 S. Pacific Highway (Highway 99) between Talent and Phoenix.

Pets that are sick, on antibiotics or cortisone products or in heat can’t be vaccinated.

Fees for vaccinations must be paid in cash since they go to a veterinarian.

Rabies and distemper/parvo booster vaccinations are available for dogs. All dogs ages six months of age and older are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies and licensed.

Dog license fees can be paid by check, cash or debit or credit card. Licensing fees vary based on a dog’s spay/neuter status. The county offers a discount for veterans and residents age 62 years and older.

Rabies and distemper/rhino/calici booster vaccinations are available for cats.

When calling to make an appointment, ask animal shelter staff about the fees for your pet.

There will be no nail trimming at the drive-thru clinic.
