UPDATED: Nearly 50,000 Pacific Power customers lose power
Nearly 50,000 Pacific Power customers lost electrical power Wednesday morning in Josephine and Jackson counties, according to company officials.
At 10:40 a.m., 49,881 customers were without power, company spokesman Drew Hanson said. The cause was under investigation, but was "likely weather-related," Hanson said in an email.
A majority of the outages are in the Grants Pass area, with customers also impacted in Rogue River, Murphy, Wilderville and Selma. The outages were reported at 10:03 a.m. It isn't known when the power will be back on.
By 12:30 p.m., the majority of customers had their power restored, with 2,235 customers still waiting.
