Controlled burning will continue west of Ashland Thursday
Forestry crews will continue controlled burn operations west of Ashland Thursday, according to a news release.
The 60-acre burn on private land follows a 30-acre burn conducted Wednesday, the release said. The operations are part of the Ashland Forest Resiliency Project, intended to mitigate wildfire danger within the Ashland Watershed.
Grayback Forestry and Lomakatsi Restoration Project will conduct burn operations. Smoke may impact the western edge of Ashland, including neighborhoods such as Ashland Mine Road, Frank Hill Rd, Wrights Creek Drive neighborhoods, and at Valley View Drive and Highway 99 near exit 19.
