Ashland student podcast named NPR finalist
Truth to Power, an Ashland High School podcast and action club, has been selected as a finalist in the Student Podcast Challenge contest run by National Public Radio.
Truth to Power’s podcast “To Be or Not To Be,” which centers on the pandemic’s impact on the relationship between the city of Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, was chosen as one of 15 finalists from high schools across the country.
The podcast, which features interviews with OSF Artistic Director Nataki Garrett and Alison Carey, director of the festival’s United States History Cycle, delves into the symbiotic relationship between the organization and the city in the midst of a national health crisis.
The winner of the Student Podcast Challenge, according to NPR, will be announced in the next week. There were about 2,600 entries in the contest.
