Former Medford city councilman and Travel Medford senior vice president Eli Matthews has been named the new president and CEO of the Chamber of Medford & Jackson County, according to a news release.

Matthews, a graduate of Wheaton College and George Fox University, served on the Medford City Council from 2013 to 2017. He has served as Travel Medford’s vice president the past five years.

“I am thrilled to help lead The Chamber and be a strong advocate for our business community,” Matthews said in the release.

Matthews will step into the role after current Chamber president and CEO Brad Hicks steps down from the post June 30.

“I have every confidence that we already have the experienced and capable individual, in Eli, necessary to lead The Chamber in its role as one of the leading business development organizations in Oregon,” Hicks said.
