The Cutoff Fire burned at 1,000 acres with no containment six miles north of Bonanza on Sunday, according to Oregon Department of Forestry spokesperson Jennifer Case. The ODF incident management team was slated to take control of fire operations at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Saturday and the cause is under investigation. Private and federal lands are affected.

Bly Mountain Cutoff Road, Jaguar Lane and Keno Springs Road are closed to all vehicles except evacuating residents and emergency responders. East of Bly Mountain Cutoff Road, north to Grizzly Lane, west of Hummingbird Drive and south to Keno Springs Road are under Level 3, “Go Now,” evacuation orders.

North to Keno Springs Road, west of Forest Service road 3812 and three miles south are under Level 2, “Get Set,” and north to Highway 140 and Kingfisher Drive and south to Grizzly Lane are under Level 1, “Be Ready.”
