State reports 200 new cases of COVID-19, 1 new fatality
Jackson County reported six new confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday, raising the local total to 11,535 cases with 146 fatalities since the pandemic started.
The state reported 200 new confirmed and presumptive positive cases and one new fatality, bringing the statewide total to 206,774 cases with 2,754 deaths to date. A total of 149 patients are hospitalized with the virus and 35 are in intensive care.
The Oregon Health Authority reported 10,006 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered over the weekend. A total of 2,102,735 Oregonians have completed a vaccine series and 2,352,425 have obtained one dose.
In Jackson County, 24,108 more people must obtain a vaccine to reach a 65% population goal of residents vaccinated over the age of 16. Across the state, 68.5% of adults have received at least one dose of a vaccine, edging the state closer to a 70% goal.
