Tennant fire at 6,000 acres

The Tennant fire burning in Siskiyou County has grown to 6,000 acres as of Tuesday night with no containment.

Evacuation orders include Bray, south of MacDoel including East and West Ball Mountain Road, Old State Highway, Juanita Lake, according to inciweb.

The Siskiyou Sheriff’s Office added an evucation warning for the Macdoel area from Sheep Mountain to the north, including Red Rock Road to the east and homes within a mile to the west of Macdoel.

Personnel, equipment and aircraft from the United States Forest Service, Cal Fire and regional agencies have been battling the blaze since it started Monday along Highway 97 east of Grass Lake, according to inciweb.

The cause of the fire is under invesigation.
