Water main break prompts Biddle Road detours
The southbound lanes of Biddle Road were closed Wednesday morning due to a water line break, and the Medford Water Commission announced northbound lanes will be closed as well starting at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The Biddle Road closure is from Stevens Street to Jackson Street. Traffic is being detoured around the closure.
The 18-inch water main broke at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, the commission said.
The commission said crews are working as efficiently as possible to excavate the area and repair the water main, but the closure is expected to continue into Thursday. Drivers are asked to follow detour signs and drive safely.
