Dr. Miriam Soriano retired Wednesday after 32 years serving the Rogue Valley as a family medicine specialist. Her solo practice, Ashland Family Healthcare, at 420 Williamson Way, closed. Patients can continue to use the address as a contact point for records requests.

Over the course of her career, Soriano said, she was most proud to have helped more than 1,500 babies and their mothers through the birthing process.

“The joy of my practice has been delivering babies,” she said.

Soriano provided family health care for 18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and navigated the challenges of transitions to telehealth and uncertainty of in-person services.

Recently seen patients were notified by letter of Soriano’s retirement and provided with a list of future primary care options, she said.

Soriano graduated from Stanford School of Medicine in 1986 and completed post-graduate training at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas. Soriano was affiliated with the Asante Health Care System.
