Two injured in west Medford house fire
Two people were taken to the hospital for burns following an early morning house fire in Medford.
The fire, in the 1700 block of Dakota Avenue, was reported at 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon 911 dispatch records and Medford Fire Department Battalion Chief Jason John.
When crews got to the scene, flames were showing from the front of the single-story residence. Firefighters quickly called a second alarm, and started attacking the fire through the front of the building.
“The fire was controlled with a single line,” John said. “It was put out pretty quick.”
Two people were transported to a nearby hospital with burn injuries, but John did not know the extent of their injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
