Jackson County logs 149 COVID-19 cases over weekend
Jackson County recorded 149 new COVID-19 cases from Friday through Sunday, according to the Oregon Health Authority.
Statewide, the Oregon Health Authority reported 3,606 new cases and 27 COVID-19-related deaths Friday through Sunday.
Information about the people who passed away, including their ages and counties of residence, wasn’t immediately available.
The number of open intensive care unit beds was at dangerously low levels in many parts of the state Monday.
The four hospitals in Jackson and Josephine counties had only two open ICU beds among them Monday, according to hospitalization data.
COVID-19 patients occupied 40 of Jackson and Josephine counties’ 59 ICU beds Monday. Of those 40, 18 were on ventilators, data shows.
An eight-county region in Central Oregon had only one open ICU bed, a six-county region in Eastern Oregon had two open ICU beds, and a four-county region along the Columbia Gorge had two open ICU beds Monday, data shows.
The Willamette Valley and coastal counties were in better shape, with 49 open ICU beds among them.
