Jackson County reports 86 new COVID-19 cases
Jackson County Public Health reported 86 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and no COVID-19-related deaths.
Statewide, the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,557 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 23 COVID-19-related deaths.
OHA said the numbers were elevated because of a technical problem over the weekend that delayed reporting of some statistics by local public health departments.
Those who died ranged in age from 39 to 97, according to OHA data.
For the week of Oct. 17-23, Jackson County Public Health reported 380 new COVID-19 cases, a 2% decrease from the previous week.
On Tuesday morning, 66 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized in Jackson and Josephine County hospitals. Of those, 18 patients were in intensive care units, according to Jackson County Public Health.
Asante reported on Tuesday that 79% of COVID-19 patients in its hospitals were unvaccinated, 82% of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units were unvaccinated and 100% of COVID-19 patients on ventilators were unvaccinated.
