Pop-up clinics offer free COVID-19 shots

Mobile vaccination clinics are popping up around Jackson County to offer free COVID-19 shots for kids and adults.

For people getting their second COVID-19 shot or a booster shot, a vaccination card is helpful but not required. Insurance is not required, and people will not be asked to show identification. People must wear masks at the clinics.

The sites have the two-dose Moderna or Pfizer vaccine series for people 12 and older, one-dose Johnson & Johnson shots for people 12 and older, and the two-dose Pfizer series that contains a smaller amount of vaccine for kids ages 5-11.

Prospect Church of the Nazarene, 471 Mill Creek Drive, will host a vaccine clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10. Parents or guardians must give consent for kids ages 5-14.

Registration is not required, but registration guarantees a vaccination. Call 541-690-3982 to register. Walk-ins are welcome.

People who need a ride can call Cheryl or Bill at 541-799-0235.

At the clinic people will be asked to provide their full name and date of birth, fill out and sign a consent form and wait 15 minutes after being vaccinated to be monitored for a potential allergic reaction.

The church will host a second clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7.

The Landing, at 801 Laurel Ave., in Butte Falls, will hold a vaccination clinic from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, with pediatric and adult COVID-19 shots.

Registration is not required, but registration guarantees a vaccination. Call 541-690-3982 to register. Walk-ins are welcome.

Butte Falls Community Bible Church is providing rides for senior citizens who need transportation. Call 541-951-9905 to request a ride.

A second clinic is planned at the church from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7.

Kids Unlimited, at 821 N. Riverside Ave., in Medford, will host a bilingual family-friendly vaccination event for kids and adults from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11.

The event includes free food, music and kid-friendly activities. Participants will receive a swag bag and be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a laptop.

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 95 Cleveland St., Shady Cove, will host a vaccination clinic for kids and adults from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17.

Registration is not required, but registration guarantees a vaccination. Call 541-622-2240 to register or if you have questions. Leave your name and phone number to receive a call back. Walk-ins are welcome.

The Jackson County Expo, 1 Peninger Road, near Central Point, is continuing to offer adult and kid COVID-19 shots in a drive-thru format. Enter through Gate 1½. No appointment is needed.

Hours of operation are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
