Local Innovation Works is an organization initially developed during the pandemic to educate future leaders.

But when the Almeda Fire happened, things quickly changed.

Through the Local Innovation Works, a new initiative was developed called Zone Captains. Helping victims displaced from the Almeda Fire reconnect and rebuild.

And if helping those who lost everything in the fire wasn’t enough, the community felt a better alert system needed to be developed.
