Friday Night Football: Mazama Marches Past Phoenix

The Mazama Vikings and Phoenix Pirates opened up League play on Friday night in a 4-A Special District 5 matchup.

Mazama came into the game 3-0 and quickly went to work on the ground. It opened up the passing game for the opening touchdown.

The Vikings would continue the offensive success on the ground, but it was the Vikings defense that showed true tenacity by shutting out the Pirates.

Mazama tops Phoenix 45-0 and sits atop 4-A Special District 5 with a 4-0 record, 1-0 in League play.

Phoenix falls to 1-3 on the season, 0-1 within 4-A Special District 5.

The Mazama Vikings travel to North Valley next Friday, while Phoenix heads to Klamath Union.

Justin Ivy led the way for Mazama in the first half with two touchdowns, as the Vikings running game showed how dangerous the winged set with three running backs and a mobile quarterback can be. Mazama topped Phoenix 45-0 at Jack Woodward Stadium in Phoenix.
