1986 would see the untimely death of Thin Lizzy’s frontman Phil Lynott after a long battle with addiction.
We rewind the clock and travel back to 1969 when the Jimi Hendrix Experience takes the stage on BBC’s Happening for Lulu. The network had planned for the group to play “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” and “Hey Joe”. Half way through their second number Jimi stops playing addresses the crowd and switching up their tune on live TV. The rest is history.
