The Artists Workshop, a group of regional painters that meets on a regular basis at various locations in the Rogue Valley for outdoor painting sessions, will present its 26th annual art show Monday, Aug. 24, through Sept. 1 in the ballroom of the Historic U.S. Hotel, 125 E. California St., Jacksonville.
The body of original artwork by 24 artists will include historic sites, city scenes and natural wonders of the Rogue Valley captured on canvas and paper. This year, the show will feature artists Dolores Ribal, Anne Brooke, Sue Bennett, Peter Coons, Bruce Barnes, Steve Bennett, Marjory Foster, Virginia Govedare, Elaine Witteveen, Marilyn Hurst, Anne Schurman, Betty Barss, Kim Faucher, Gary Foll, Mae Heideman, Ken Deveney, Lynda Haghan, Doris Kerwin, Gwen Kirk, Christina Madden, Pauline Mainwaring, Carolyn Roberts, Anne Hinds and Wynn Pedersen.
The Artists' Workshop was founded more than 25 years ago by Jacksonville artist Elaine Witteveen. It became an opportunity for local artists to practice their techniques and capture the beauty of the Rogue Valley. The group paints outdoors as weather permits, or moves indoors to paint live models during poor weather. The group also is open to new members.
Exhibit hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. A reception for the artists will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. Call 541-482-5837 for information.
