Bridget Melanie Palamara and Joshua Timothy Swanson were married Sept. 2 in the garden on the rooftop of the Ashland Springs Hotel. The groom's aunt, Pastor Becky Wagner of Chicago, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dottie and Dr. Alan Palamara of Medford. A 1997 graduate of South Medford High School, she received a bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in education from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., in 2002. She currently works at Haute Cakes Caffe in Newport Beach, Calif.
The groom is the son of of Judi and Dan Varalli of Delray Beach, Fla., and Timothy and Susan Swanson of Chicago. A 1993 graduate of Salem High School in Salem, Va., he received a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in business and education from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., in 2000. He is an outside salesman and project manager for Ferguson Enterprises in Santa Ana, Calif.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Wendy Palamara of Medford. Bridesmaids were Sierra Castellano of Medford, Sage Frane of Durango, Colo., and the groom's sister, Hilary Swanson of Hightstown, N.J.
Best man was the groom's step-father, Dan Varalli of Delray Beach, Fla. Groomsmen were the groom's cousin, Seth Wagner of Aspen, Colo., Dio Cifuni of Fort Collins, Colo., Chris Counts of Salem, Va., and Shane Price of Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Ring bearer was the couple's 4-pound chihuahua, Tito.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception in the Ashland Springs Hotel Grand Ballroom.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the newlyweds are living in Costa Mesa, Calif.
